Continuing the Island Conversations theme of "water is life," the June Conversation is a life-and-death detective story about salmon and water quality.

Tickets are now on sale for Sound Waters University (SWU), Tracing Life through the Salish Sea explores the intricate web of relationships that connect species, habitats, and communities throughout this unique marine ecosystem. Visit Whidbey Audubon Society’s table while you are there.

Longtime South Whidbey Audubon member Govinda Holtby and her husband, Matt, a follower of the Grateful Dead, have published a book that melds their two passions: Northwest birds and the Grateful Dead. They will be launching the book with a festive, public celebration at Ott & Hunter winery in Langley on October 26, 3 - 5 p.m. 

Join us for the third year of our annual, Wings over Whidbey Bird Festival, Saturday. This year it will be a full day for all ages with a well-rounded variety of fun to include educational and informational presentations. We have some exciting presenters lined up. There will be field trips both Friday and Saturday.

Whidbey Audubon Society will have a table in the central community hub with more information about all of our activities and opportunities, along with a bird viewing station near Crockett Lake with an expert birder, binoculars and scopes available for all to use.
