The Willapa Hills Audubon Society is hosting a Wild Bird Fest on February 19 to 21, 2027 in Cathlamet, Washington. The festival is designed to bring lovers of birds and nature to Wahkiakum County, Washington for a weekend to enjoy the amazing numbers and diversity of waterfowl and other birds that winter on the Columbia River Estuary and nearby wetlands. Timed to coincide with peak numbers of ducks, geese and swans, the festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the region’s beautiful landscapes and discover the birds that call them home. With spring migrants beginning to arrive, there is even more to see—from waterfowl and shorebirds to songbirds. The festival will include field trips (guided as well as self-guided), workshops, and live music. For more information and to register, go to the festival website.
Registration opens November 14, 2026.
