Annual Elections at May Membership Meeting

By Linda Griesbach

An election will be held at the May 14 membership meeting to fill the position of Vice President of the Board of Directors. The position is for a two-year term. There is no candidate for the position of President.

Please arrive at 7:00 p.m. at the Coupeville Recreation Hall for this meeting so that election of officers can take place once a quorum is assembled. After that, we will enjoy refreshments and our monthly program presentation.

We are exceptionally fortunate to have a strong candidate for the Vice Present position, current Board Member at Large Linda Rhodes. Linda presents the following candidate statement:

Linda Rhodes, Candidate, Vice President of the Board of Directors

Whidbey Audubon Society is a highly regarded authority and advocate for birds, their habitats, and their conservation. I want to continue supporting its strengths in education and public awareness (field trips, classes, program presentations, outreach events) and in citizen science. From this base of well-informed and engaged members, our chapter can be better engaged in current and future conservation actions throughout Island County. Whidbey birds are integrators of terrestrial and marine habitats, and our human community receives many benefits from the presence of them. Our chapter is well positioned to be a voice for ensuring that birds are part of our home, now and into the future.  I would like to be a part of that voice.
